Our Story
Our story begins on a dating app! Krista, with the advice and encouragement of friends created an online dating profile. After a few weeks on the app, Krista was discouraged with the dating scene in Cincinnati and told her friend she wished she could change locations to another city. Well, thanks to the pandemic - turns out you could! With talk amongst friends of visiting Austin TX in October 2021, Krista didn’t see the harm in changing locations for a day or two since she was planning to visit...
As fate would have it, Jon was the very first guy she matched with, and the rest is history... only she had to explain she didn't live there (oops!)
Our First Date
November 5-7th, 2021
After exchanging messages back and forth, and talking on the phone for about two weeks- Jon didn’t want to miss the opportunity to meet in person sooner, and suggested coming to Cincinnati to visit! Without hesitation, plans were made for a weekend visit and Krista went to pick Jon up at the airport and meet for the first time.
The weekend was spent touring around Cincinnati, introducing Jon to Skyline Chili (he's not sold on the 3-Way) and going to the German Christmas market. Still our favorite date to this day!
The weeks and months after were filled with plane rides back and forth to Austin/Cincinnati, road trips with the dogs and planning the next visits. In the spring of 2022, Jon expressed he had a desire to move back home to Seattle to be closer to family and friends and in a true leap of faith, Krista joined him that summer!
The Proposal

After Krista unknowingly rearranged several of Jon's proposal location ideas the weekend of - Jon proposed on the beautiful beach at Port Hadlock near the family cabin.
As fate would have it, Jon was the very first guy she matched with, and the rest is history... only she had to explain she didn't live there (oops!)
